Casa del Gusto is a little corner of Italy in Brno!

Since 2011, it has been offering its customers selected Italian products designed to satisfy every palate. The collaboration with Loison, which began almost by chance, has become a pillar of the shop’s confectionery offering. In this interview, Massimo, the owner of Casa del Gusto, tells us about the birth of this partnership and the increasing preference for panettone, which is no longer just a Christmas cake, but a delicacy appreciated all year round.

How does Casa del Gusto come about and what criteria does it use to select its products?
Casa del Gusto was established in December 2011, with the idea of creating a small shop that was also a place to enjoy Italian dishes, ideal for a quick lunch break during working days. The initial selection of products focused mainly on quality items with good value for money. One example above all was San Daniele prosciutto crudo, from the Levi company, which from the beginning was one of our workhorses, along with other products to satisfy a wide and varied clientele.
How does the Loison philosophy fit in with Casa del Gusto? Tell us how this tasteful collaboration came about!
The collaboration with Loison came about almost by chance, thanks to a meeting with an Italian retailer operating in Czechia. He had told me about Loison products, so I decided to try them in our shop, alongside other brands. Gradually, however, I realised that Loison had something special: not only the quality of the products, which is excellent, but also the packaging, which is very neat and attractive. Since I liked the idea of becoming a Loison reference point in Brno, I decided to focus exclusively on Loison, with the aim of offering customers a product that was not only of high quality, but also a pleasure to look at and give as a gift.
How is panettone perceived in Brno? What are the typical occasions of consumption?
Panettone in Brno has a great impact, and is no longer considered just a Christmas cake, it is in demand throughout the year.
If you had to make a sales forecast for 2024, which flavour do you think will be the most popular with your customers?
At the moment, one of the flavours that is getting the most positive feedback is pistachio. Customers seem to like it a lot, perhaps because of its uniqueness and flavour. However, I believe that the zabaglione panettone will also arouse great interest.
Three words to describe what Loison represents for Casa del Gusto!
Loison for Casa del Gusto is an excellence, a priority and a real pleasure to work with!
